In this workshop, she would work with participants on spontaneity through listening with our bodies, borrowing exercises from Playback Theatre, the workshop aims to allow everyone to become a vessel of creative expressions and liberate oneself from standards and unrealistic expectations.

5 elements of Qi | Butoh Workshop Ukraine Fringe

About workshop:
Thomas develops his own method of body work as a Butoh artist by integrating various forms of Asian disciplines, such as Qi-gong, martial arts, yoga and zen into his practice. In this workshop, Thomas will share his experience in body and mind training, as well as basic technique of Butoh notation. Participants will also discover their own creative movement by using the practice of ‘5 elements of Qi’, and go on a journey towards their inner self.

“Who is a Shakespearean actor talking to and why? As I understand it, when I am acting I have a relationship to the audience. We have been trained recently to imagine they are not there. There is a fourth wall. We do this because of movies and Stanislavski. Now, the question is “Why do they ignore the audience?”

Participants can work with any prepared text, not only Shakespeare and not only in English (though the session will be held in English).
In addition, those who visit Dikran and Kristine’s show earlier will be able to ask questions about the production, as well as the British peculiarities of actor’s training.
